Hypercarry

The Hypercarry archetype focuses less on elemental reactions and more on buffing the main damage dealer in the team.

Whether a unit or team is viable greatly depends on the available roster of characters. Some Hypercarry teams don’t have replacements or have enough buffers for their specific niches.

Disclaimer

The example teams are not intended to be the best for that specific archetype. Some of them are strong, while others are just fun teams that will struggle in the highest levels of the Abyss. Some archetypes are weaker than others, as they don’t have a strong roster to draw from. But that doesn’t make them less enjoyable to play in the overworld.

We tried restricting each team to no more than two limited 5* units.

All the archetypes have multiple lineups that work. Use these guides to help you experiment with your own teams!

Hypercarry

Wanderer Hyper (Example Team)

Wanderer’s Hypercarry team aims to boost his attack, anemo damage, and/or attack speed while protecting him from being knocked out of the sky. In the example team, Faruzan is Wanderer’s best and most crucial support. She provides an Anemo damage bonus and an invaluable Anemo resistance reduction. Wanderer Hypercarry can’t preform well without her.

Bennett is the game’s strongest attack buffer, which is great for Wanderer as he scales on attack. The healing is also a nice bonus.

Yelan increases normal attack damage, which is Wanderer’s largest source of damage, but she also provides strong off-field damage and Hydro to swirl.

Some other decent Wanderer Hypercarry units are Mika, Zhongli, Layla, Fischl, Xingqiu, Yun Jin, Ayato, and Furina.

Itto Hyper (Example Team)

Itto’s Burst gives him a Geo infusion and converts defense into attack. Because Geo resonance is the only way to reduce Geo resistance, having a second Geo unit that also buffs defense is essential.

Gorou is Itto’s dedicated support. Gorou provides the team with Geo resonance and has the largest defense buff in the game.

Layla is used to provide a sturdy shield and off-field Cryo.

Ayato provides a normal attack buff with his burst as well as off-field Hydro. This reacts with the Cryo to Freeze. Since Itto is both Geo and Claymore, he is a reliable Shatter character, which only adds to his damage.

Some other decent Itto Hypercarry units are Mika, Zhongli, Xingqiu, Yun Jin, and Furina.

Raiden Hyper (Example Team)

Raiden’s Hypercarry aims to buff her Electro damage and reduce enemy Electro resistance.

Sara is Raiden’s dedicated support, providing her with a large Electro damage buff.

Bennett buffs her attack and provides healing.

Kazuha buffers her Electro damage further, reduces enemy Electro resistance, and groups them together.

Some other decent Raiden Hypercarry units are Yae Miko, Xingqiu, Furina, Fischl, and Zhongli.

Xiao Hyper (Example Team)

Xiao’s Hypercarry units need to provide a few more things rather than buffs. Xiao has one of the longest field time durations so the buffs need to last a long time, and a shield is recommended as he’s easy to knock out of the sky when jumping.

In this team, Zhongli provides a long, powerful shield that reduces the enemy’s Anemo resistance.

Bennett provides a strong attack buff, even though it won’t last long enough.

Faruzan further reduces the enemy’s Anemo resistance and provides an Anemo damage buff.

Some other decent Xiao Hypercarry units are Nahida, Albedo, Furina, and Raiden.
