Rainbow

Rainbow teams are composed of 4 separate elements, trying to capitalize on as many different reactions as they possibly can. Most Rainbow teams consist of Anemo, as it’s the only element capable of causing a chain-reaction of reactions.

Each archetype is different with its own unique playstyle. Even different teams within the same archetype will have the main reaction changing, greatly impacting the playstyle.

Disclaimer

The example teams are not intended to be the best for that specific archetype. Some of them are strong, while others are just fun teams that will struggle in the highest levels of the Abyss. Some archetypes are weaker than others, as they don’t have a strong roster to draw from. But that doesn’t make them less enjoyable to play in the overworld.

We tried restricting each team to no more than two limited 5* units.

All the archetypes have multiple lineups that work. Use these guides to help you experiment with your own teams!

Soup

Soup is the archetype of Anemo, Electro, Hydro, and Pyro. Its reactions consist of:

Swirl (Electro, Pyro, Hydro)
Electro-charged
Overload
Vaporize

The idea of Soup is to first apply Electro-charged, and then trigger Swirl, Overload, and Vaporize on top of it.

Sukokomon (Example Team)

Sukokomon has Fischl and Xiangling as the off-fielders, applying their respective elements.

Sucrose is used for her EM buff, Anemo swirl, and grouping abilities.

Kokomi is the main on-fielder, driving Fischl and healing the team.

Gazpacho

Gazpacho is the archetype of Anemo, Electro, Hydro, and Cryo. Its reactions consist of:

Swirl (Electro, Cryo, Hydro)
Electro-charged
Superconduct
Freeze
Shatter

Gazpacho’s idea is to first trigger Freeze on targets, and then Superconduct, Electro-charged, and Swirl. It’s even better if a physical, Blunt dealing main DPS is used to take advantage of the Physical resistance reduction Superconduct provides.

Eula Gazpacho (Example Team)

Eula Gazpacho uses Fischl and Yelan as sub DPS while applying their respective element off-field.

Sucrose is used for her EM buff, Anemo swirl, and grouping abilities.

Eula is the main on-fielder, taking advantage of Superconduct, Shatter, and driving Yelan and Fischl.

Popcorn

Popcorn is the archetype of Anemo, Electro, Cryo, and Pyro. Its reactions consist of:

Swirl (Electro, Pyro, Cryo)
Superconduct
Overload
Melt

Since Popcorn doesn’t have an overtime reaction like Burning, Electro-charged, or Freeze, the idea is to trigger as many quick, exploding reactions as possible.

Punching Popcorn (Example Team)

In Punching Popcorn, Fischl is used as the off-field Electro applicator.

Kazhu is used for Swirls, damage boosting, and strong grouping abilities.

Dehya is used for her defensive abilities as well as a bit of on-field time when using her Burst.

Wriothesley is the main on-field DPS, driving Fischl.

Hot Fudge Sundae

Hot Fudge Sundae is the archetype of Anemo, Hydro, Cryo, and Pyro. Its reactions consist of:

Swirl (Cryo, Pyro, Hydro)
Freeze
Vaporize
Melt
Shatter

Like Popcorn, Hot Fudge Sundae doesn’t have an overtime reaction. Thus, they try to trigger as many Amplification Reactions as possible.

Wanderer's Sundae (Example Team)

Wanderer’s Sundae has Layla bringing a shield to protect Wanderer in the air and apply off-field Cryo.

Bennett is used for healing and his attack boost. As well as to trigger a powerful Melt if swapped to right after Layla.

Xingqiu is used for his stellar Hydro application.

And Wanderer is the main DPS, driving Xingqiu and swirling a bunch of Amplification reactions together.

Habanero

Habanero is the archetype of Dendro, Electro, Cryo, and Pyro. Its reactions consist of:

Quicken
Burning
Superconduct
Overload
Melt

Habanero aims to maintain both Quicken and Burning as overtime reactions, while using Cryo to react with both Electro and Pyro.

Sumeru Spices (Example Team)

In Sumeru Spices, Nahida takes the field first to apply Dendro.

Followed by Dehya to trigger the Burning reaction.

After that, Layla provides a shield and off-field Cryo.

Lastly, Cyno takes the field to drive Dehya and Nahida to trigger a variety of spicy reactions.

Forestfire

Forestfire is the archetype of Anemo, Dendro, Electro, and Pyro. Its reactions consist of:

Swirl (Electro, Pyro)
Quicken
Burning
Overload

Forestfirst aims to trigger Burning first, then Quicken. Then Anemo comes in to swirl Pyro to spread the fire and deal Overload reactions.

Tighnari: Forestfire Ranger (Example Team)

Tighnari’s Forestfire team is a quick-swap team with no main on-fielder.

It starts with Tighnari taking the field to apply Dendro.

Then Bennett lights the forest on fire, providing a strong attack buff and healing.

Yae Miko sets up her turrets for off-field Electro.

Jean triggers the Sunfire technique with her Burst, applying a pulse of Pyro every second.

Tighnari takes the field again to repeat the cycle.

Yogurt

Yogurt is the archetype of Anemo, Dendro, Electro, and Cryo. Its reactions consist of:

Swirl (Electro, Cryo)
Quicken
Superconduct

Yogurt has the least amount of reactions of all Rainbow teams because Dendro doesn’t react with Anemo or Cryo. But that makes this team good for Physical Electro characters, as they can reliably trigger both Quicken and Superconduct.

Physical Fischl Yogurt (Example Team)

In Fischl’s Yogurt team, Fischl is actually played as an on-field Physical unit, driving herself.

Yaoyao is there to apply off-field Dendro and healing.

Lynette applies off-field swirls.

Mika provides a little healing but an attack speed boost, and physical damage buff at later Constellations, to Fischl.

Fridge

Fridge is the archetype of Anemo, Dendro, Hydro, and Cryo. Its reactions consist of:

Swirl (Cryo, Hydro)
Bloom
Freeze

Like Yogurt, Fridge has few reactions since Dendro doesn’t react with Anemo or Cryo. But it’s powerful nevertheless. Fridge aims to Freeze the targets first, then trigger Bloom on the Frozen targets, with Anemo grouping and keeping enemies Frozen for as long as possible.

Kaeya Fridge (Example Team)

In Kaeya Fridge, Nahida is used for off-field Dendro damage and application.

Xingqiu is used for the high amount of Hydro he applies.

Kazuha is used for Swirls, damage buffs, resistance reductions, and grouping.

Kaeya is the main on-fielder, driving Xingqiu to trigger Blooms and keep enemies Frozen.

Campfire

Campfire is the archetype of Anemo, Dendro, Pyro, and Cryo. Its reactions consist of:

Swirl (Cryo, Pyro)
Burning
Melt

Campfire aims to Burn targets and then trigger Reverse Melt with Cryo. Anemo is used to Swirl the campfire onto other enemies during the chilly weather.

Xiao's Campfire (Example Team)

Xiao’s Campfire uses Baizhu as the off-field Dendro applicator, shielder, and healer.

Bennett lights the flames and buffs Xiao’s damage.

Ganyu’s burst is used to bring the chilly weather and trigger Melt reactions on Burning targets.

Xiao is the main on-field DPS, swirling Pyro to other flammable targets.

The Avatar

The Avatar is the archetype of Anemo, Hydro, Geo, and Pyro. Its reactions consist of:

Swirl (Pyro, Hydro)
Crystalize
Vaporize

This team doesn’t have any special synergy and is a fun team dedicated to the TV show Avatar: The Last Airbender.

In this example team, Wanderer is the Last Airbender, flying around on the winds while the elements of Water, Earth, and Fire float around him.
