Vaporize

Vaporize is the reaction between Pyro and Hydro. Vaporize is an Amplifying reaction. Instead of dealing with a separate instance of damage, Vaporize makes the attack that triggered Melt stronger.

If Vaporize is triggered with Pyro reacting with Hydro, it will increase that attack’s damage by x1.5. This is called Reverse Vape.

If Vaporize is triggered with Hydro reacting with Pyro, it will increase that attack’s damage by x2 times. This is called Forward Vape.

Forward Vape consumes more Pyro aura, making it less reliable than Reverse Vape. This means more Hydro units applying Hydro more frequently is required for Forward Vape to work. Reverse Vape, although weaker, is able to trigger Vape more often, making it stronger overall.

All in all, there are two main points to keep in mind with Amplifying reactions.

  1. Consistency is better.
  2. The more powerful the triggering attack is, the larger the reaction will amplify.

The example teams are not intended to be the best for that specific archetype. Some of them are strong, while others are just fun teams that will struggle in the highest levels of the Abyss. Some archetypes are weaker than others, as they don’t have a strong roster to draw from. But that doesn’t make them less enjoyable to play in the overworld.

We tried restricting each team to no more than two limited 5* units.

All the archetypes have multiple lineups that work. Use these guides to help you experiment with your own teams!

Sunfire Childe (Example Team)

Sunfire Childe uses the Bennett/Jean technique to apply even more Pyro, giving Childe more than enough to Forward Vape.

Childe goes first, using his Burst to apply Hydro on enemies.

Then Jean to Swirl the Hydro, reducing their resistance. She also provides the team with a powerful heal.

Bennett uses his Burst to apply Pyro to the team, which Jean swirls with her Burst. Spreading even more Pyro to nearby enemies.

Xiangling goes to apply more damage and off-field Pyro.

Finally Childe comes back, Vaping all her can.

Firetruck

The Firetruck archetype uses the Burning reaction to trigger more consistent Forward Vapes. Since Burning continuously refreshes Pyro, as long as it continues to remain, it acts as another source of Pyro application.

Desert Gurls Burning-Vape (Example Team)

The Desert Gurls attempts to use Collei as the off-field Dendro unit. Her application doesn’t need to be as strong, because Hydro will be weak enough not to trigger Bloom.

Dehya provides some defensive abilities to the team as well as off-field Pyro.

Thoma gives a shield and more off-field Pyro.

Candace is the main on-field unit, driving Thoma and Dehya while Vaping as much as she can on the Burning targets.

Supervape

Supervape archetype introduces Electro into the Hydro, Pyro mix. Which adds Overload and Electro-charged into the mix. Since Electro-charged can maintain both Hydro and Electro, both Vape and Overload will trigger when Pyro is dealt.
